IP Scanner for iPhone and iPad · Last updated 1 November 2026

IP Scanner lists and identifies the devices on the local network you are connected to. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer does not receive any data from the app.

What stays on your device

Scan results, device names you edit, notes, favorites, scan history and tool history are stored only on your device. They are included in your device's normal iCloud or computer backups, like the data of any other app. You can delete all of it in the app under Settings › Forget All Devices, or by deleting the app.

The app only exports or shares data when you choose to, using the system share sheet.

Local network access

To find devices, the app asks iOS for permission to access your local network. It then contacts addresses on that network (ping, connection attempts on common ports, Bonjour, UPnP and NetBIOS name queries, and the devices' own web pages) to work out what each device is. This traffic stays inside your local network.

What is sent over the internet

Some features need to contact services on the internet. These requests come directly from your device; the developer never sees them.

These services handle the requests under their own privacy policies.

Children

The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
