Common questions

The scan finds only my own device. The app needs permission to access your local network. Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network and turn on IP Scanner. Scanning also needs a Wi-Fi or Ethernet network; it does not scan mobile data networks.

Some devices show no name. A device is named only if it tells the network its name (Bonjour, UPnP, NetBIOS or its web page). You can rename any device yourself: open it and tap Edit.

Why don't I see every device's MAC address? iOS doesn't let apps read MAC addresses directly. The app shows one only when the device reports it itself. Phones often use a private, randomized address per network.

Wake on LAN doesn't wake my computer. The computer must have Wake on LAN turned on, and it usually needs to be connected by Ethernet. Some routers block the broadcast packet.

A device shows as offline but it's on. Some devices sleep or ignore network probes. Pull down on the device list to scan again.
